Q.
I can change the size the Icons to different
sizes, but the text beneath the Icons stays
the same size which looks like a 6 or 7
point. This is much too small for me to see.
How can I enlarge this text? I am using
Windows Vista Home Premium.
A.
To change the Icon text size only....
1. Right
click on the desktop
2. Select
Personalize
3. Select
Windows Color and Appearance
4. Select
Open classic appearance properties
5. Click
Advanced button
6. Click
little scroll down arrow under Item
7. Scroll
to and click on the Font box, set the icon
size to what you want.
If after
you change the icon text size it doesn't all
fit, go back through the above and increase
the Horizontal Icon spacing.
Now, If
everything on the screen is too small, there
is another setting you can change that will
increase the size of everything on your
screen. Here's how to do that.
1. Right
click on the screen
2. Choose
Personalize
3. In the
left pane, click Adjust font size (DPI).
4. To
increase the size of text and other items on
the screen, click Larger scale (120
DPI)–make text more readable, and then click
OK.
5. To
decrease the size of text and other items on
the screen, click Default scale (96 DPI)–fit
more information, and then click OK.
6. To see
the changes, close all of your programs, and
then restart Windows.
7. If
neither the 120 or 96 suits, you can choose
to set things at most nay other DPI.
After you
have done that, you may find that the text
under the icons is now too large, and if so,
you can reduce it like you previously
increased it.
Q.
When I go to a crossword puzzle site & click
to print the puzzle, Adobe Reader starts up.
On one computer it opens by moving to
another web URL. To get back to the puzzle I
must use the back arrow. On another
computer, Adobe Reader opens in another
window so to go back to the puzzle I just
close that window & am back to the first URL
window. Why does it work differently?
A.
This is controlled by settings in the
browser. If you are using Internet Explorer,
in the Control Panel, click on Network and
Internet Connections, then on Internet
Options, then the General Tab.
In the
Tab section, click on Settings. Near the
bottom is a section titled Open links from
other programs. In this section, the choices
are different between your two computers.
Just change them both to whichever action
you desire. |
