Q. What is a “hex” number?

Q. On my desktop there are many shortcuts. How can I find the actual program that a short cut is linked to?

Q. Ever since I did a reinstall of XP, when the computer boots up I get an extra screen with duplicate items on it asking me which version I want to use. How can I get rid of this extra, useless screen?

Q. When I open Internet Explorer and click on Favorites, there is an item there called Links. Every time I delete it, it comes back automatically. How can I delete this and keep it deleted?

Q. When I tried to open an email all I get is a bunch of characters that make no sense at all, and a reference to something called MIME. Now I know what a mime is, but what does that have to do with my email?

Q. Many times I get an email address confused between .com and .net. Just what is the difference between these anyway?

Q.  I got my computer used, and when I right click My Computer, choose Properties then the General tab, it shows the old company and user's name. How can I change this?

Q. On a new computer, the msconfig program has a "Tools" tab that allows launching many of Windows programs. How can I add this to a computer that doesn't have it?

Q. When I try to make a folder private, I cannot because this feature is grayed out. How can I get this feature to work so I can make a folder private?
